Is it true that there must be two witnesses when a husband divorces his wife? Is the divorce acceptable if there is only the husband and wifee?

Answer:

The validity of divorce is not dependant on witnessing. The divorce will be
valid if only the husband and wife are present. (Fataawa Darul Uloom vol.2
pg.710)
