Muakkadah Sunnah: Error in the Book

In the English book How to Offer the Salat Correctly by Maulana Muhammad Ashraf Ali Thanvi which I purchased from Albalagh online bookstore on page 148 in the table of rakaat of five time salat it says in the remarks, “After Fard all Sunnahs are (Ghair Muakkadah). Is this correct? It was always my understanding that the Sunnah after Zuhr and Maghrib and Isha were also Muakkadah. Please clarify. [Imran Ahmad] |
A.) It appears that there is a typing error in the book, ‘How to offer Salat Correctly’ as Moulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) himself has stated in Bahishti Zewar (vol.1 pg.182; Azaadville):
1. ‘These six Rakaats of Sunnah (of Dhuhr) are also necessary.’
2. ‘Not offering them (2 Sunnat Rakaats of Maghrib and Esha) will amount to sinning.’ And Allah Ta’ala knows best
