Respected Sister,

You do not need your husband’s permission to spend from your own wealth.

Shaykh Ashraf ‘Ali Thanwi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates:
‘It is a moral right of the wife that she be regularly given a separate allowance to spend as she wishes. This ‘personal allowance’ is totally separate to whatever budget the husband gives to manage home affairs. This ‘allowance’ should be in accordance to the means of the couple. The husband should make a point of gifting this to his wife with love and happiness clearly stating, ‘This is your personal allowance, your ownership to spend as you wish.’ (Ashraf’s Blessings of Marriage, pg. 221)

And Allah knows best.

Wassalam.
