I made a vow to give a specific sum of money in charity

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalamualaikum

I made a vow to give a specific sum of money in charity if a certain action was done. Due to it being a large sum of money, Could I give the money out over time to random beggers on the street, car guards, good causes that I come across etc.? Or does it have to be given to a poor Muslim one who is eligible to receive Zakaat? My intention at the time of making the vow was just general charity.

JazakAllah

The money should be only given to poor Muslims who are eligible to receive zakat.(1)
