Taking the Oath of Affirmation over the Holy Quran

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Taking the Oath of Affirmation over the Holy Quran

Answer:

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

One should try to take oath on the Holy Quran wherever possible. However, where that is not possible then one can take an oath of affirmation or even touch the bible on the condition that he does not believe it to be the words of Allah as the bible has been changed and altered since its revelation. Also one should not have any feelings of greatness to it. (Jadeed Fiqhi Masaail p.450 v.1)
