Have I broken my Ramadan fasts by masturbating, and am I still liable to keep 60 consecutive fasts?

I knew that my fast would break if I masturbate but I did that during a day of Ramadan and I kept a qaza fast after Eid. I want to know that I am still liable to keep 60 days consecutive fasts? I have a very bad habit of masturbating since many years. I used to do it more than once a day but since 2 years I am trying my best to leave this habit. Now the situation is I masturbate 3 or 4 times a month though it is still sinful I know. I do it in the times of extreme ghaflat? One thing more, I did this thing during last Ramadan also but I did not know it will break my fast and I kept qaza for those when I came to know that it is so.

Masturbation is haram and big sin. If one masturbates in the state of fast his fast shall break. However, in this case only qaza is wajib not kaffarah i.e. you will not have to keep fast of sixty days constantly. You shall be sinful if you masturbate though three or four times a month, you must give up this bad habit permanently. The best way to give it up is to do nikah if you can, but if it is not possible then fast extensively and avoid seeing nude pictures and porn films etc. Also, instead of having bad thoughts at the time of sleeping go to bed reading durood. If you have bad thoughts again then think about the warnings of Allah. Follow the above mentioned instructions, in-shaAllah you shall get rid of this bad practice.
