Does stuttering and reciting incorrectly break Salaah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

I regularly pray my salaah, however when I read fast or slow suddenly I stutter even though I have no stutter problem, and then I get the words wrong (Quran). If this happens does my namaaz break?

Answer

Namaaz only breaks if you make a major mistake which changes the meaning, e.g. from “yes” to “no”.  However, minor mistakes don’t break namaaz.  Since you don’t know Arabic and can’t differentiate between major and minor, don’t be worry too much; try your best and leave the rest to Allah subhanahu wa ta’aala.
