Folding up pants

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Are we allowed to fold our pants up, by the ankle in salah, so that our ankles are uncovered. I have heard thats its Makrooh therimi to pray with your pants folded.

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

It is disliked to pray with one’s trousers “rolled up,” but not if one’s trousers are neatly and properly folded. The Prophetic command not to fold up one’s clothing–whether sleeves or trouser legs, as the scholars explain–applies to any rolling up that is either untidy and unbecoming, or that is done in a manner that could distract one during prayer.

And Allah alone gives success.

Faraz Rabbani
