Assala mu aly kum, Respected Sir, One of the obligation while performing Gusl is to make the water reach the certilage( fexible bone) in the nose.I have heard from some friends that this obligation can be ascertained by taking a sip of water through the nose in such a way that one almost begins to tear. Is it true or otherwise convey how to complete this Fard. Thanks!
Answer:
(Fatwa: 1262/1183=D/1429)
It is enough to let the water reach the soft bone of nose. It is neither necessary to absorb water so intensely that the effect may reach up to the mind nor to let it cause tears:
قال فى المراقى غسل الفم والأنف قال الطحطاوى اى بدون مبالغة فيهما فانها سنة فيه على المعتمد (102)
i.e. it is not obligatory to transgress the limits in entering water in nose but Sunnah is what has been mentioned above.
