One of my friends mother expired. whether he can recite quran, give food to poor and do good deeds and send the sawab of above acts to her dead mother. please clarify and quote the relevant hadees.

Your friend can recite the Quran for the isal-e-thawab of his mother. He can also feed the poor and can deliver the reward through other means of good deeds.
