Aslam-o-Alikum, Hazrat i want to ask that is one can offer 1 rakat of wetar in isha prayer. because someone told me that hazrat muawiya R.A. often offer 1 rakat of wetar in isha prayer. JAZAK ALLAH KAHIR

According to Ahnaf, witr salah is of three rakats with one salam; hence it is not lawful for a hanafi to offer witr of one rakat.
