I have read that we should recite the following. Dua when sitting between the 2 Sajdas:’Allahummagh Firli war Humni waj Burni war Fahni Wahdini wa Afeeni war Zukhni”. Is this ok, if so, please explain the meaning. Also, are we required to say, “Hamdan Kaseeran Tayyiban Mubarkan Feeh” after “Rabbana wa lakal Hamd” after standing up from Ruku?

To make Dua in between the two sajda in nafal prayers is permissible. If a person is inclined towards making a Dua in obligatory prayers then he should recite

‘Allahumag firli’. A person should refrain from saying too many words less it may occur that someone might end up saying something that is not in the Koran or the prophetic traditions, which could end up affecting the prayer. This is the reason why a person should stay away from making too many Dua in the obligatory prayers. However, in nawafil if one wants to do so, then he or she should do so with care.
