Eating at Daughter’s Home

Eating at Daughter’s Home

By Moulana Imraan Vawda

Q.) I was wondering if it is permissible for a father to eat at his daughter’s house or is it permissible but not advisable? Also is it better if a brother invites a sister to his house or if the sister invites the brother over? Because my dad says that that my mom’s brother should invite us over more then we should invite them over, which I disagree with.

A.) It is permissible for the father to eat at his daughter’s home. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It is permissible for the brother to invite the sister, and vice versa.

There is no particular preferred host. There is no basis to claim that your Uncle should invite you more. One should have a big heart, and invite others irrespective if they invite you or not.
