Answer:
In wudhu, it is mustahab (preferable) to make masah of (i.e. to wipe) the nape (the back part of the neck). As for making masah of the throat (front part of the neck) during wudu, the Jurists have deemed it to be a bid’ah (innovation) and hence impermissible, as it was not the practice of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam).
