What should Muslim men do when their wives or other Muslim women are being mistreated on the streets? For example, if someone makes a derogatory comment about a man’s wife or if someone pulls of her hijab. How should men/husbands react to these kinds of situation?
Answer:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In such situations, Muslim men should defuse the situation with calmness, prudence and lofty character.
The long term solution to such problems is that Muslims should become practising Muslims; they should adopt the teachings of Islam in all aspects of their lives. When the non-Muslims see the lofty character of the Muslims and the beauty of the teachings of Islam, they will themselves stop this kind of unruly behaviour towards the Muslims.
