Question:

I have a question regarding the chemical called Gelatin Crosspolymer which is used in antiperspirant deodorants. I would like to know whether it is ḥalāl (islamicaly permissible) or not. Deodorant called ‘Sure for Men’ which I used from years, as it is non-alcoholic but now found that it has Gelatin Crosspolymer. Please advise.

Thank you/ Jazāk Allāh Khayr for contacting Mathabah with your question.

According to my research, Gelatin Crosspolymer is either derived from plants or fish. Therefore, the product you give reference to, if it does not contain any non-ḥalāl components, would be permissible to use as a Muslim.
