Airline offering 10% bonus credit voucher

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
An airline is offering 10% extra credit than you originally paid for future use if you choose not to refund your ticket in original form of payment (cash or visa card)
Will this be considered interest (riba) ..?
Kindly clarify
جزاك الله خير

Just to add on my last airline question

The voucher (including the bonus) can be used anytime during the next 24 months (there is no minimum period to be elapsed for the 10% extra credit)
Its mainly an effort by the airline to encourage bookings & to retain booked passengers for future travel
Will this 10% extra credit be considered usuary (interest) or not?

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

This is not interest. Rather, it will be considered as a gift and an incentive.

It will be permissible to accept the offer of the airline.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best
