Question

If water goes down the throat whilst fasting, does fast break?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer

If one accidentally breaks his fast by letting water seep down his throat whilst gargling, his fast will break. However, no kaffarah is necessary for him. (Nurul Idah p.318)
