Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
I would like to know if it is permissible for one to trim her hair only a little if due to hormones her hair has been falling a lot and it has become very uneven and also has a lot of split ends. As a result hair growth has slowed down a lot.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Trichoptilosis schizotrichia, and informally split ends, is the splitting or fraying of the hair-shaft due to excessive heat and mechanical stress.
If there is no other way to overcome the split ends, then a woman will be excused to trim her hair only as a form of treatment and only to the extent of need up to just a few centimetres. [1]

وإذا حلقت المرأة شعرها؛ فإن حلقت لوجع أصابها فلا بأس به، وإن حلقت تشبهاً بالرجال فهو مكروه، وهي ملعونة على لسان صاحب الشرع،

عورت کے لئے بال بڑھانے کی غرض سے پھٹے ہوئے بالوں کو کاٹنے کی اِجازت ہے، اِس میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔

جب بال منڈائے بغیر علاج معالجہ مفید نہیں ہے تو مجبوراً بال منڈانے کی اجازت ہے ۔
یعنی عورت بال منڈانے پر مجبور ہوجائے تو اجازت ہے لیکن تسبہ بالرجا ل یا فیشن کے لئے ہوتو جائز نہیں حرا م ہے ۔
