Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) advises Abu Mahdhurah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) to hasten in performing Maghrib

Question:

What is the source of this Hadith?

إذا أذّنت المغرب فاحدرها مع الشمس حدرا

Answer:

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the chain sound (hasan).

Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported: “Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) told me, ‘When you call out the Adhan for Maghrib, then hasten [in the Adhan as well as to perform Maghrib] while the sun is setting.’”
