Maymun’s ibn Mihran statement regarding seeking forgiveness on behalf of ‘Uthman and ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhuma)

كان ميمون بن مهران يقول: إن أقواما يقولون: لا يسعنا أن نستغفر لعثمان وعلي، وأنا أقول غفر الله لعثمان وعلي وطلحة والزبير

Answer:

This narration is recorded in Kitabush Shari’ah of Imam Abu Bakr Al Ajurry (rahimahullah).

Maymun ibn Mihran (a Tabi’i -rahimahullah-) said: “Certain people say, ‘It is not permissible to seek forgiveness on behalf of ‘Uthman and ‘Ali, but I say, ‘May Allah forgive ‘Uthman, ‘Ali, Talhah and Zubayr (radiyallahu ‘anhum).”

(Kitabush Shari’ah: 1229)

The narrators are acceptable and the narration is suitable to quote.
