Q: “salams Mufti i have three questions that i wanted to know which my mind is a little clustered because i heard different people sayings numerous and i dont want to say something that is not according to islamic law”

question #1 : ” is a woman allowed to visited the cemetery”
(not the day of the funeral but lets say after)

question#2: ” can people recite quran in the cemetery at the day of the burial”

question#3:”what is the posture of making dua in the cemetery the day of the burial”
(e.g like standing around the grave or like facing the kabaah and such)

A: Wa alaikum As Salaam,

1. Yes, a woman is allowed to visit a cemetery as long as she can keep herself calm and can control her emotions. That is, she should not express her emotions by crying excessively with sounds and raising her voice etc. it is advisable that she goes with a Mahram or her husband.

2. Yes, people can recite Quran in the cemetery on the day of the funeral.

3. One should stand facing the Qiblah in the cemetery, whether it is the day of burial or afterwards.
