Taking money from one’s wife without her permission

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Can an unemployed man in debt take money from his employed wife to pay a debt without asking her permission, but having the full intention of replacing the money? Is that regarding as theft?

Bismillaah

A: This is not permissible. He should not take her wealth without her permission and wilful consent to pay off his debts.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
