Can Hanafis Conduct Second Congregational Isha’ Prayer in a Masjid During Rain?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If due to rain in certain parts of the world, Maghrib and Isha’ are prayed together in the masjid. Would it be permissible for Hanafis to conduct a second congregational Isha’ prayer in that masjid, because it is forbidden to conduct second congregation prayer in a masjid?

Bismillaah

A: The namaaz will not be valid in the musjid with jamaat. This is applicable to a musjid where there is an appointed imaam. If there is no appointed imaam and it is a musjid on the thoroughfare then the namaaz with jamaat for Esha can be repeated.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
