How to calculate my Haidh?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I have read fatwa #37481. I understand the rules pretaining to a mazoorah. Can u give me clarification as to how to calculate the days of haaidh in the following situation.

there is a normal menstrual discharge for 10days (meaning heavy first and slowly lessening) this continues until day15/20 by this time the discharge is light brown in colour, when seen is about the size of an inch in diameter.  The discharge continues, the same colour but eventually lessening to the size of 1-2 cm spot and sometimes this is only once a day and is seen in this way until the bleeding resumes heavy as stated in the begining.

thsi suituation has been going on for over 6 months.

Will i count 10days haaidhs 15days paaki. 10days haaidhs…. OR do i count the begining of the heavy bleeding as haaidhs?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Your understanding is correct.

Count 10 Days as Haidh and the remaining 20 days as Istihaadah.[1]
