Are the following remarks blasphemous?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Dear Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb    Assaslamu alaikum

A professional orator made some overwhelming remarks in his lecture.

Here is what he said.

1. In a Hadith he said – a jamaat will appear such that they will read namaaz better than you. They will do tilawat better than you. But they will not have even slightest concern with Islam.   So I say dont look the beards. This zubba is nothing, this paghdi is nothing, this beard is nothing. If action is not according to sunnah, the appearance can be deciving.

2. Who was behind fights between Abu Bakr r. Umar r. Uthman r. and Ali r. They were hypocites. Who committed murder of Amirul Muminin in Masjid Nabawi. Hypocites. Their names are written in books. Somebody’s name Umar, somebody Abdullah, somebody Muhammad.

3. If following the truth causes fitna then we must not be concerned by it.

4. If for the safey of deen we have to leave KAABA we have to leave. If for deen we have to leave Makkah we have to leave.

Our question is , can such blatanetly blaspheming remarks render the orator to Kufr. What is Sharai Order.

Bayyinu tujaru.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

You enquire about the Iman/Kufr of an orator with regards to his statements.

We are advised to exercise precaution in issuing a decree of Kufr. Consider the following Hadith:

عن ابن عمر، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: «إذا كفر الرجل أخاه فقد باء بها أحدهما»

صحيح مسلم (1/ 79)

Translation:

“Hadhrat Ibn e Umar Radhiyallahu Anhuma narrates that Nabi ﷺ said: when a man labels his [Muslim] brother an apostate, then it [apostasy] returns to one of them” (Sahih Muslim 1/79)
