A miracle regarding a Sahabi who broke his leg

Is this narration authentic?

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this incident with a suitable chain.

(Kitabu Mujabid Da’wah, Hadith: 50)

Translation

‘Amr ibn Malik (rahimahullah) says, A Sahabi who claimed to be from the ‘Asharah [Mubassharah] related to me, “We were once a small brigade in jihad when someone’s leg/thigh bone broke. we left him behind with his horse. When we left, he recited the verse:

But if they turn away, then say, Allah is sufficient for me. There is no Deity but Him. I have put my trust in Him. He is the Rabb of the Mighty Throne‘ (Surah Tawbah, Verse: 129)

He then stretched out his leg, turned it and grabbed hold of it, mounted his horse and caught up with us.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
