Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) would dedicate the entire night to the recital of Quran

Please could you mention the reference for this?

On one occasion, some of the Fuqaha (Jurists) of Egypt entered the presence of Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) at the time of sehri. On entering and meeting him, they saw that he had a Quran before him and was occupied its recitation. Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) addressed them saying, “Your engagement in Fiqh has occupied you from reciting the Quran, whereas I dedicate special time to recite the Qur’an every night. After performing the ‘Isha Salah, I place the Quran before me and commence its recitation. I only complete my recitation at the time of dawn.”

Answer

Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has recorded this incident in his book, ‘Manaqibush Shafi’i.’

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
