Hadith: When one of you gets angry, he should keep quiet

Question Kindly provide the reference for the following Hadith:

When one of you gets angry, he should keep quiet.

Answer

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Nabi (sallalahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Teach the people, make it easy for the people and don’t make it difficult upon the people. When one of you gets angry then he should keep silent”.

(Al Adabul Mufrad of Imam Bukhari, Hadith: 245 and Musnad Ahmad vol. 1 pg. 239)

Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the chain of narrators in Musnad Ahmad as authentic.

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 8 pg. 70)
