Is the following a Hadith?
“Close to Qiyamah there will be women dressed but naked in reality”
If yes what is the explanation of the Hadith?
Answer
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded the following Hadith in his Sahih:
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“There are two categories of people of Jahannam which I have not seen (they were non-existent at that time). The first is a group who has whips like the tails of cattle with which they torture people. The second category are those women who are clothed yet they are naked, attracting (to males) and are attracted to (by males). Their heads are like that of a camel’s hump which are tilted. They will not enter Jannah nor will they smell its fragrance although its fragrance can be smelt from such and such a distance [far away].”
Imam Nawawi (rahimahullah) has offered the following explanations of ‘clothed yet naked’:
1) These women will be blessed with abundant bounties from Allah Ta’ala, yet they will be ungrateful.
2) Their bodies will be clothed, but they are void of any good deeds nor do they show any concern for the Hereafter
3) They will be semi-nude. Part of their body will be covered whilst other parts remain exposed.
4) These women will wear such thin and transparent clothing that their complexion and colour of their skin will be visible, thus although clothed they are in actual fact naked!
(Sahih Muslim, with commentary of Imam Nawawi, Hadith: 5547 and 7123)
May Allah protect our Womenfolk.
