A du’a to recite when one is unable to stop evil?

What is the status of this narration?

Answer

This has been cited in Tambihul Ghafilin without a chain. I have not come across its chain of narrators.

(Tambihul Ghafilin, pg. 98)

Translation

It has been reported that a Sahabi said: “When anyone sees some wrong taking place and he is unable to express his disapproval, he should recite the following du’a thrice: Allahumma inna hadha munkarun fa la tua-khidhni bihi [O Allah this is something wrong so do not take me to task for it]. If he says this, he will be rewarded for enjoining good and forbidding evil.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
