No gift was too small for Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to accept

Is the following Hadith authentic?

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu), Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“If I were invited to eat no matter whether it is a shoulder or merely a trotter, I would accept and if I were given a gift of a shoulder or merely a trotter, I would accept either.”

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith in his Sahih. It is therefore authentic.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2568, 5178. Also see: Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1429)

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.

This illustrates the sublime humility of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam). He never belittled any gift. May Allah Ta’ala bless us with this quality of appreciation too. Amin
