Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

i have a question, what would happen if This particular man should decide to come speak to my parents on my request. Isn’t his parents suppose to be present, but that cannot happen in his case because his parents are in Pakistan and he doesnt have any family in South Africa. What are the procedures that need to be islamically followed where the consultation with the parents are concerned?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

The person may discuss the issue with your father. He does not have to be represented by his parents. If the person proposed marriage to you through your father, you could consider the proposal and take all the necessary steps before deciding on the issue.

And Allah knows best
