Are There Hadiths That Discuss the Invasion of India?

Answered according to Shafi'i Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: Are there any hadiths about invaded India? If so, how can Hindus feel safe from Muslims?

Answer:

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Dear questioner,

Thank you for your important question.

There are hadiths about Muslims invading India, but they are of disparate levels of authenticity. One such hadith reads,

‘An army from among this nation will be sent to Sind and India …’ (Musnad Ahmad)

The hadith has been deemed weak by certain modern scholars. (Musnad Ahmad, ed. Shaykh Shuayb Arnaut)

Regardless of the authenticity of the hadith, the Muslims did invade India very early on in Islamic history, so the meaning is true.

Furthermore, the Muslims only invaded as a just war, and they would only invade again as a just war.

As long as Muslims in India do not engage in terrorism, there is no reason for Hindus in India to be scared of them. The cure to stop terrorism is sound and authentic Islamic education.

I pray this helps.
