Four questions about tareeqah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Aslamwalaykum, i hope this message finds you in the best of health inshallah.

I have several questions regarding various tariqas. I am 16 and just recently started to get involved in numerous zikrs with different tariqay.

1) How should one decide where to give bayt to?
2) What do you think of the Chisti tariqa, most of the followers have pictures of the peers in their houses and give them salam, is that allowed? My dad is bayt with them and he says I shouldn’t give bayt to anyone else but the Chisti tariqa? Do you agree with this?
3) What do you think of the Shahdili tariqa?
4) How can one increase their memory?

Please do dua for me as well that Allah (swt) forgives this slave of his.

I would advice you to listen to two of my bayans on bay’at, on this website, in tafseer of surah al fat’h. Inshallah that will help you and clear your mind regarding bay’at.

1, Bay’at is for islah of nafs and for ta’alluq with Allah. One should get bay’at to a sheikh whom he/she can relate to with ease and from whom they can derive benefit.

2, Chishti tareeqa is very widely accepted one and many people are related to it. However, as with everything, tasawwuf has been hijacked by some individuals who use it to make money.
Hanging live pictures on Walls is not allowed. If the peer has ordered the mureeds to that, then he is breaking the rules of shariah, so he cannot be a proper peer. A peer has to adhere strictly to the sunnah.
You will find peers who are from chishti silsilah, and who are muttabi’ of sunnah, get bay’at to them.

3, Shaazli tareeqah is connected to sheikh abul hasan shaazli rahmatullahi alayhi. He was in that golden era of the soofiyae kiram. His tareeqah is also widely accepted.

4, Eat lots of badam(almonds), avoid sins, seek Allah’s help.
