One time a brother at uni lead salah,and he didn’t read the surahs in the correct order, I kindly told him its better if its in order of the quran. The brother said how do you know the order they were revealed at different times, Iqra is near the end etc. I didnt know what to say to this. Please clarify
This is the problem with salafees, they have created thousands of mujtahids, everybody wants to make their own assumptions without proper knowledge. Tell him the Quran was not written in this manner during the time of Rasulullah Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, so why do u read this quran?
The the114 surahs were placed in this order by sayyiduna usman radiallahu anhu during his khilafah, he had some indication from Rasulullah Sallallahu alayhi wasallam. The Sahabah nd those who followed them recited the Quran in this order, all four imams’ research is that it’s makrooh to read against this order, so there is an ijmaa ( consensus) upon this. Anyone who says something else is breaking the ijmaa, therefore this uni student shud behave in future.
