Visiting graves of mashaaikh and requesting them to ask from Allah for us

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Assalamualaykum Respected Muftisaab

I hope that you are well.

I realise that you are probably a busy man so I will be more than happy with a short answer.

My question is:

Are we allowed to go to the graves of Buzrugane-Deen and ask them to ask Allah on our behalf to fulfil one of our wishes?

If it is not allowed, is it counted as Shirk since the pious person is no longer alive?

If it is Shirk and I have previously thought that this act was not impermissible although I have not done such an act, do I need to re-say shahadah?

Jazakamullah
Haroon

Visiting the graves of mashaaikh is not shirk, it’s mustahabb.

Regarding asking them to make dua for you, you need to read the following fatwa regarding tawassul.
