Is halal bird’s feaces paak?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

TaleemulHaq says halal birds’ excretion is paak and haram birds’ excretion is najasat-e khafifa. Then why is chicken, fowl and duck excretion (murghi aur battakh ki beeth) described as ghaliza when they are halal birds. Why would their stool be ghaliza and haram birds stool khafeefa (lesser degree)? (is it because they dont fly?) 2. How should I cleanse my mattress which has absorbed semen? If I put water on it, the springs inside rust and start squeaking and it discolors the mattress.

Usually, the excrement of the birds is very small in quantity and carries no smell or little smell. Therefore, it’s not as filthy as other excrement’s. Hence, it will be included in that less than heavier category of filth, also, because it’s hard to avoid it. Whereas on the other hand the excrement of a chicken is bigger in quantity and carries a bad smell it is considered from the higher category of filth.

If the bed has been contaminated than one should pour water on it three times and cleanse it this way. One should not be worried about the filthiness of the spring.
