They sound very similar and nobody has noticed. I only realized this mistake because I am learning arabic and I can tell what letter it is. How can I make up for this mistake in surah Al-Fatiha?

The place of articulation for the letter ‘zad’ is very similar to the letter of ‘za’, which comes after the letter ‘ta’. And it’s not anywhere near the same as the letter of ‘dal’. In the future be mindful of this difference and how it can affect a person’s prayers. A person should seek forgiveness and have hope that Allah will forgive.
