Is it permissible for ladies to pray together without a male imam. If yes, how shall one of them lead?

Scholars have considered undesirable for women to conduct their own prayers in congregation in the absence of men imams. But if women pray in this form their prayer would be accepted. Their congregational prayer would not be same as of that of men; rather their imam would be just ahead of the line of the women. Their imam is not allowed to stand ahead of the front line as in the case of men. The better thing for them is to avoid doing it in congregations and doing it individually. They should not make a custom out of this either.
