- I consider myself as a Deobandi and follow the ulamaa of Deoband. I also know that the work commonly known as “tableeghi Jamaat” is started by a great sufi of Deoband. I go in the jamaat also but rarely, my question is (1)Why do some tableeghi brothers insist on saying that “Daawah” is more important than “Ibaadah”. Isn’t it true that Dawaah is a part if Ibaadah and not the opposite. (2)They keep saying that the only reason we were created is to do Dawaah, isn’t it a fact that we are not only created for dawaah but also for all the Ibaadaas put together. (3) I have met a few tableeghi brothers who were of the opinion that in this day and age it is a farz-e-ain (not farz-e-kifaaya) to work in the tableeghi jamaat.
