My mother emotionally blackmailed and threatened me into getting a student loan saying she didn’t have money to pay for my college since I dropped many classes and I had autism so attending a working in and being accepted to a menial job was hard. I eventually was convinced, but later I found out if I cancelled the loan I could stop the accruing of interest and stop going to school and pay then come back to school. I did that then my mother told me I was not welcome at her house over the phone and I was in terror for about half an hour looking for someone to stay with, but eventually I called my mom and she changed her mind. I was traumatized. I thought I would be homeless. Later, she secretly got out a loan from the bank instead of the university, and I got mad but she didn’t care. Later, years later, she apologized, and she is paying, and I may get a job soon. Is it my sin?

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق
Just as the causes of suffering and troubles are our sins, so there can be other causes and wisdoms behind these trials and tribulations, the real knowledge of which is with Allah (SWT) alone.
However one of the main reasons for this is our own ignorance and irrationality. Therefore, if any action is taken in the future, it should be done in consultation with religious scholars and worldly intellectuals and experienced people.
At the same time, be regretful and ashamed of the sin you have committed, repent and seek forgiveness, and resolve not to commit this sin again.
Avoid taking interest-bearing loans ever in future, which is a major cause of loss in the Hereafter as well as the ruin of the world economy.
