What the Ulama e Kiram say about reciting the Holy Quran without knowing its meaning. Some people say it’s just reading but with no reward, while I think if someone recites without knowing meaning, still he will get reward?
الجواب وباللہ التوفیق
Rasoolullaah S.A.W. has conveyed us promise of ten good deeds on every letter of the recitation of the Quran. He S.A.W. has given the example of the reward with the letters الف ،لام ،میم though these letters are حروف مقطعات their real knowledge is only with Allaah T’aalaa. This is the clear argument and proof that one will get reward simply by reciting the Qura’n. There is no condition and restriction of reciting with the understanding. This is the unanimous decision of all reliable Ulama and researchers.
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم من قرأ حرفا من كتاب الله فله به حسنة والحسنة بعشر أمثالها لا أقول آلم حرف ولكن ألف حرف ولام حرف وميم حرف(سنن ترمذی: كتاب فضائل القرآن عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم)
