Water used to wash impurity from floor

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalamualikum,

I want to ask if I wash a tiled floor by pouring water on the wet impurity, is the water standing on the floor considered impure?

Moreover, if after pouring water, I shower and after showering, water reaches outside the bathroom, is that water considered impure as it is shower water mixed with the water with which impurity was washed?

What if some water goes down the drain? Is the rest of the water then considered pure?

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

  1. If wet impurity is washed on tiled floor then due to mixing wih this impurity the water standing on the floor would become impure.
  2. Yes, the water used for taking shower would become impure after mixing with impure water.
  3. One should flow impure water and the shower water to the extent that one should have conviction that the impurity and the impure water would have gone then it would become pure. But one should remember that if there is impurity at the place of taking shower then firstly one should wash it for cleaning then he or she should make Wudu or Ghusl there.
