Details about Different Duroods

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Asalamualaikum Hazrat,

A few friends of mine who recite different Duroods that are not from Ahadith, but claim certain pious scholar learnt it from a dream directly from the Prophet (SAW)?

This sit doesn’t well from me? Is it such a thin permissible, and then to teach it to others?

If it is, then if the Prophet (SAW) abrogated something from the shariah, would it be put in place, or considered? If the answer is no because this has to be based on solid evidences, then why is it permissible to permit people to congregate, and engage in group dhikar of a durood, that’s nowhere from the “original” Sunnah.

I’d appreciate your input.

الجواب وبالله التوفيق

In every act of worship the actual basis for acting upon something should always be the Sunnahof Rasulullah Sallallaho Alyhi Wasallam, whether it is fardh, wajib, nafl, mustahabor mubah. The same standard will be followed in reciting awrad and wazaif. Therefore, one should read the durood which has been mentioned in the ahadith of Rasulullah Sallallaho Alyhi Wasallam and hold a firm belief of great rewards while reading it.
