Tent in Mina Outside Mina

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalaamu’alaikum,

I am working in Saudi Arabia and Alhamdulillah I have done Hajj 2 years back. Here there are 3 categories in Hajj registration form.

1. Normal Fare    2. Low Cost    3. Mayasur.

For Normal Fare, it is around (6000 SAR and above)

For Low Cost (3600-5900 SAR)

For Mayasur (3000-3500 SAR)

I selected the low-cost category and went for Hajj. When I went there I came to know that the tent which was allotted to us is outside the boundary of Mina. I heard from the people that this place is in between Mina and Muzdalifa. When we asked a Sheikh regarding this he explained to us with the example of a Masjid which gets full and the Sufoof stretch outside the Masjid. I want to know your point of view regarding this. Please let me know whether my Hajj is valid or do I have to do it again. I enquired about this with some of the Ulama here, they said Hajj would be Ok but the reward will be less. I want to know the point of view of our Ahnaaf Ulama regarding this.

Jazaakallaahu Khair!

الجواب وباللہ التوفیق

It’s Sunnat e Moakkadah to spend the night in Mina. When one leaves Sunnah, neither Kaffarah becomes Wajib (Compulsory) nor it makes any difference in the completion of the Hajj. However, leaving Sunnat, one gets deprived of its reward, and if Sunnat was left out due to some unavoidable reason then even that gets forgiven. Therefore, your Hajj got completed, there is no need to repeat it.
