What Do I Do With the Ashes of Burnt Islamic Literature?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: What do i do with the ash, after shredding and burning, unwanted literature ? If the text only has the name of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in English/urdu/hindi do i need to erase the names still or does this refer to Arabic text only?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

It would be proper to bury such ashes. This applies to literature of all languages.

If you intend to burn unwanted Islamic literature, you should first erase the name of Allah, His Prophets, and His Angels. Thereafter, you may burn it. Alternatively, it would be permitted to bury the literature as it is, ideally wrapped in something pure, and in a place that is not normally walked over. [Ibn `Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

And Allah alone gives success.
