Are Females Allowed to Use Epilators for Hair Removal?

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: Assalam alaikum.

Are females allowed to use epilators for hair removal? Are there any disliked/haraam methods of hair removal for females?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this message finds you well, insha’Allah.

Yes, it is permitted to use an epilator to remove hair because what is sought is the removal of hair, without specification of a specific method.

The general consideration is that it should not cause harm to the body nor cause you to reveal your nakedness to another. Otherwise, most methods of removing hair are fine.
