Lahiq

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Is this correct: A resident muqim person praying (4 ra’kats) behind a traveller (who is praying 2 raka’ats) becomes a ‘lahiq’ when he stands up to pray his two extra raka’ats, and does not recite the fatihah in them but merely stands quietly for the time it would take to recite the fatihah?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam,

Yes, this is the more correct (asahh) opinion.
