Hajj on parent’s money which may involve interest

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Mufti Yusuf Mullan

I want to perform hajj next year insha’Allah and my parents have agreed to finance the trip. Unfortunately, some of my parent’s wealth involves fixed deposits which earn interest and they also have a mortgage. If I go on hajj with their money, do I have to worry that some percentage (which may be small) of that money has been gained impermissibly? What should I do in this situation because I want to do hajj while I can but my only means to do so is through the means given by my parents?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Wa alaikum salaam wa rahmatullah,

Given that the great portion of this money you will be receiving from your parents is from lawful sources, it will be permissible to use this money for the Hajj trip.

And Allah knows best.
